For a standard accent wall (approximately 12 feet wide × 9 feet tall / 3.6m × 2.7m) with a patterned wallpaper, you'll typically need 3–4 rolls. For a plain or small-repeat pattern, 2–3 rolls. Always add one extra roll to your calculation.

Four variables determine how many rolls you need:
- Wall height — floor to ceiling
- Wall width — the total width of the wall(s) you're papering

The Formula
Step 1: Calculate your cut length
Wall height + 5 inches (12cm) trimming allowance = cut length
Step 2: Adjust for pattern repeat
Round your cut length up to the nearest multiple of the pattern repeat = adjusted cut length
For plain or textured wallpaper with no pattern repeat, skip this step.
Step 3: Calculate panels per roll
Roll length ÷ adjusted cut length = panels per roll (round down)
